I would like to create one (Or two, if possible) short picture books for children. The Cornish Mermaid will be the main character, and the books will be about her adventures in the ocean. They would be ten pages long, with just a sentence or two on each page. With a series of photos as the main focus of the books (Like the ones shown below). Most of the images could be taken from above water, but It would be more effective to get a few underwater too. 

If possible I would like to get these published and ideally, I would like the profits to go to the Marine Conservation Society. This way, the book will go to help our seas as well as teach about them.

The plastic sea monster

A story to teach children about plastic pollution.

Page 1: Introducing the Mermaid, Mermaid is swimming along enjoying herself.
Page 2: She notices something floating that she has never seen before.
Page 3: She goes to investigate. Finds out its rubbish. Page 4: Swims up to the beach and sees two people leaving their rubbish behind.
Page 5: She swims up to the people. 
Page 6: She tells them that the rubbish is littering her underwater home.
Page 7: Some mermaids have become tangled up and cannot escape.
Page 8: The two people agree not to leave their rubbish on the beach even again.
Page 9: The mermaid thanks them and says goodbye.
Page 10: Mermaid is returning home. But sadly, there are still people that leave their rubbish.

The Mermaid and the Sailor

Loosely based on the mermaid of Zennor.

Page 1: Introducing the mermaid, Mermaid sitting on a rock.
Page 2: The mermaid hears the sailor singing, from his boat. She is enchanted by his voice.
Page 3: Each night she swims a little closer. 
Page 4: ...and closer!
Page 5: One night she swims too close and lets out a sigh, the sailor catches sight of her.
Page 6: He instantly falls in love with the mermaid. 
Page 7: It comes time for the mermaid to go back to the ocean. 
Page 8: Knowing she cannot live without the sailor, she casts a spell which allows him to live under the sea with her.
Page 9: They swim together. Down and down.
Page 10: Happily ever after.
